I was born in Toledo, Ohio, the last of four siblings. With two brothers in the military and a sister married, I moved to Oregon with my parents at a young age. We moved back to Toledo after a few years where I graduated from high school and attended the University of Toledo. At the University of Toledo I acted in an on-stage character part in every theater production the three years I was in school there. I also appeared in several University produced radio dramas on the University station and had my own radio program representing the University on a local radio station. I then became news director for another Toledo radio station before moving to the Detroit area to pursue other radio work. I transferred to Wayne State University in Detroit where I earned a degree in Communications and English.
I feel as if I have been writing all of my life. Even as a youngster I wrote short stories, poetry, and variety shows. I spent many years writing professionally in Detroit, Los Angeles, Toledo, and now Texas, in the advertising and marketing communications field. As a copywriter and creative director, I have written more than two dozen industrial films and stage presentations; a multitude of TV and radio commercials; hundreds of print ads, brochures, news releases, and speeches; and numerous computer-aided learning programs and tutorials. I started my first novel while still working in marketing, but eventually left the field and began writing full-time for myself. I never looked back.
My wife and I moved to Georgetown, Texas, in 2013, to be near our son and family. I try to write every day with at least one of my writing projects.
